The Fitness Mindset

Life does not exist without its rewards and setbacks. Are you trying to maximize your rewards while cutting down your setbacks? In life there’s many different rewards and setbacks depending on what you’re trying to achieve.

If being healthy, fit, and strong is what you’re focusing on, then when can you have are your rewards? What are your setbacks? Often overlooked rewards are the small steps you advance everyday towards your goal.

Discipline

Discipline is key to positive rewards. Without discipline, how can we plan to achieve our goals and fitness routines? Everyone that gets into the fitness lifestyle or routine has a similar goal. To get in shape and remain in shape.

There are people who are disciplined and can follow a diet and workout plan, but then there are other people who are low on the discipline scale. They think results should be fast and easy. They begin to slack off on diet or exercise when rewards are not quickly apparent.

You have to have the discipline to stick to your diet, lifestyle, and health. Being fit isn’t something you can buy at a store or pay someone to do it for you. It’s something that is earned through hard work and perseverance. This is why most people are not fit or healthy.

It’s Not Easy

In fact, it’s hard. If it were easy everyone would do it and there would be less sicknesses in the world. The amount of people suffering from foodborne illnesses is staggering and only getting worse. There’s too much sugar in our diets. Another troubling lifestyle indicator is the amount of people with elevated cholesterol. For most people, these ailments can be remedied or mitigated through lifestyle improvements.

There are so many things to consider when we start a new diet or fitness lifestyle. Will this get in the way of my work? Will I be able to afford new healthy foods and vitamins? Will this mean I have to sacrifice eating desserts or drinking alcohol? The truth is yes. These things will probably happen but in life there is always sacrifice.

What are you sacrificing? And for what reward? Are you sacrificing anything important that you can’t do without? No, you are only becoming better through discipline. Again, discipline is doing what we don’t want to do, but doing what must be done, no matter how we feel.

Courage

Courage is doing what’s right even while being afraid. Without fear courage cannot exist. And without courage we cannot conquer our lives, minds, and bodies. It’s courage that makes us change and improve. It’s courage that creates the discipline necessary for this change, and we must embrace it to reap the benefits it will bring.

It all starts with a healthy mindset and realizing your health is your most important investment. Health is the new wealth. Choose wisely, think positively, and act on your goals. Discipline will win and with discipline comes the results we all wish to see and feel. Stay healthy my friends.
